Forecasts

Periodic market outlooks for SPX, XSP, and the sector ETFs. Forecasts are published on trading days before market open, with the directional bias, the key levels, and the candidate structures for the day. Forecasts are not predictions — they are scenario analyses with explicit invalidation levels. Each forecast is reviewed against the realized close in the next forecast, so the forecast track record is self-auditing on the same page. The forecasts are paired with the directional bias from the methodology published on Dependability. The forecast page is the daily execution layer; the methodology page is the structural framework. The forecast articles include the macro context (VIX regime, sector rotation, calendar events), the technical levels (prior day close, overnight range, key moving averages), and the candidate structures that the playbook would allow for the day's directional bias. The forecast articles do not include the trade log entry for the day — the trade log entry is published separately when the position is opened. The forecast shows the thinking; the trade log entry shows the action. A reader following the journal day to day should read the forecast first, then the trade log entry, and then the next-day forecast, which reviews the prior day's outcome against the forecast. The forecast archive is searchable by date and by ticker, so a reader can compare how the journal called specific setups across multiple market regimes.
